An afternoon in Chadron

It is a hour drive from Hot Springs to Chadron Neb.

We will meet at the Country Kitchen in Chadron Neb at noon. The Pine Ridge Corral will host the program. It is a Dutch treat lunch, At 12:45 a brief history of Dawes County, NE (during the period of 1865 to 1895) is presented by the Pine Ridge Corral Sheriff, John Rotness. At 1:30 you have the option of going to the Museum of the Fur Trade, our group rate discount is $3 per person. The Museum is located three miles east of Chadron on US highway 20.

Dawes County Museum

The second option is a trip to the Dawes County Historical Museum for a presentation of the famous 1,000-mile horse race from Chadron to Chicago presented by the assistant curator, Linda Rotness. Guided or self are available for remainder of the museum. Admission is free with donations accepted.
